That the Parliament congratulates Guide Dogs Scotland on its 60th anniversary, marking six decades of life-changing work supporting people with sight loss across Scotland; notes that the organisation celebrated the milestone with a family fun day on 20 September 2025 at its Forfar Regional Centre, which is the original site of Scotland’s first guide dog training facility and opened in 1965; acknowledges the proud heritage and deep community roots of Guide Dogs Scotland in Forfar, highlighted by the exceptional contribution of local volunteers, supporters, and businesses; commends the Forfar fundraising group for raising over £100,000 in the past 15 years alone; celebrates historic milestones, including the training of the 1,000th guide dog in 1980 and the qualification of the UK’s first female guide dog mobility instructor, Pat Miles, at the Forfar centre in 1972; applauds the staff, volunteers, and supporters who have made these achievements possible, and wishes the entire Guide Dogs Scotland community continued success for the next 60 years and beyond.
