That the Parliament congratulates Montrose Port Authority, Inch Cape Offshore Ltd, Pert Bruce Construction and all partners involved on the commencement of the construction of Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm’s operations and maintenance base at Montrose Port; notes that the Inch Cape project, with 72 turbines located approximately 15 kilometres off the Angus coast, represents one of Scotland’s major renewable energy investments; understands that the new operations and maintenance base will include a 600 square metre warehouse, offices, quayside facilities, a 70 metre floating pontoon, dockside cranes and associated communications infrastructure; further understands that the facility is expected to generate around 50 long-term skilled local jobs, including turbine technicians, administrative and operations staff; considers that this investment reinforces Montrose’s role as a strategic hub for offshore wind; believes that significant local economic benefits will flow from both direct employment and the supply chain, especially in Angus, and wishes all involved well as they work collaboratively to ensure that the project is delivered safely and on time.
