That the Parliament congratulates the Two Towns Big Ideas project for Banff and Macduff on being shortlisted as a finalist in the 2025 SURF Awards in the Improving Scotland’s Places category; recognises that this achievement reflects the creativity, ambition and collaboration of local groups and organisations in strengthening their communities; notes that the six grant-funded projects supported through the initiative include the bicentenary exhibition of General José de San Martin by the Banff Preservation and Heritage Society and Museum of Banff, year-round skateboard coaching and events by CattleSkate Academy CIC, the Banffshire Highland Day by Banff Castle Community Centre, the Macduff and Banff Youth Hub (MBYH) delivered by students from Banff Academy and A Place in Childhood, the Mission Connect Town Centre event led by students at Banff Academy and the creation of an accessible and inclusive outside event space by The Forge Banff; commends the work of all volunteers, young people and community organisations involved for their vision and dedication, and wishes the project every success at the awards in December and in continuing to build a bright future for Banff and Macduff.
