That the Parliament congratulates Norrie McIntosh on his retirement at the remarkable age of 91 from his role as a volunteer adviser with Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service; notes that Mr McIntosh has dedicated 25 years of voluntary service to the organisation, following an already distinguished career as a draughtsman, trade union representative and regional organiser; recognises that this is Mr McIntosh’s second retirement, having first stepped back from full-time work in 1996; acknowledges the profound contribution that he has made to individuals and families across Dumfries and Galloway, particularly through his extensive expertise in employment law; commends the deep respect and gratitude expressed by colleagues, including the Stranraer Bureau Manager, Dan Baillie, who highlighted both his friendship and his exceptional knowledge; notes that Mr McIntosh’s commitment to volunteering was inspired by a promise made to his late wife in 2001, reflecting his enduring values of fairness, service and compassion; welcomes that he will continue to support Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service as a member of the Board of Directors; wishes Mr McIntosh a long, healthy and fulfilling retirement, and acknowledges the lasting legacy that he leaves within the Citizens Advice network and the wider community of Dumfries and Galloway.
