From 17 to 22 August 2025, I visited Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California, USA, as part of a delegation of MSPs to meet with health professionals, family members of individuals who had used Oregon's Death with Dignity Act and California's End of Life Options Act, Senators and representatives of organisations who provided information about the provisions of the Act. The costs of the visit, including travel, accommodation and meals amounted to £3,938 and were paid by the permissible donor Dignity in Dying (a not-for-profit organisation that campaigns for a change in the law on assisted dying, of 181 Oxford Street, London, W1D 2JT). [Registered 26 September 2025]
From 31 July to 5 August 2016 I was part of a fact finding political delegation to Israel and the West Bank for Scottish Conservative MSPs. The costs of the visit amounted to £2,000 and were met by Conservative Friends of Israel (of CFI Ltd, PO Box 72288, London, SW1P 9LB).
